El Gato Agency is an independent real estate brokerage in Dalton, Georgia — founded in 2023 by investor, developer, and broker Corey Shields to serve buyers, sellers, and investors across Whitfield County, Murray County, and the wider Northwest Georgia market.
The agency is built around a single idea: that real estate, done well, is closer to architecture or investment than it is to sales. Every engagement is scoped, every contract is read, and every property is considered with the long view in mind.
We practice in four disciplines — buyer representation, seller representation, investment property, and renovation. The disciplines inform one another. The broker who has framed a wall negotiates a roof allowance differently. The operator who has underwritten a rental reads a listing differently.
Most of our work is in Whitfield and Murray counties — Dalton, Chatsworth, and the smaller communities across Northwest Georgia. When a property sits outside our practice, we say so, and refer the work to someone better suited.

Corey entered real estate ten years ago and spent six years as a licensed agent before stepping away from the brokerage to work full-time in construction, flipping, and investing — learning houses from the framing up and the income statement down. He returned to brokerage in 2025 and founded El Gato Agency to bring both sides of the work under one roof: the contracts and the construction, the underwriting and the presentation.
